Hue University, 26 - 27 November, 2009 
This is yearly meeting of NAFEC of VNAFE. The meeting not only involved the member of the board, but also representatives of all VNAFE's Member Institutions. The Board members evaluated all activities of VNAFE for 2009; shared results of education, training and research on agroforestry; informed SEANAFE strategy and discussed about membership fee contribution, coordination of the network, contribution to the web site of VNAFE and agreed on the 2010 plan Minutes of the Meeting | Training on Agroforestry Landscape Analysis (AFLA) and Markets for Agroforestry Trees Product (MAFTP)
Da Lat City, 20 – 24 July, 2009  Follow up a series of projects on AFLA and MAFTP carried out by 5 country networks of SEANAFE, in order to disseminate the concepts/studies to reality/practice of extension; during 20 – 24 July, 2009, supported by VNAFE/SEANAFE, Lam Dong Extension Center - a institution member of VNAFE organized the training on Agroforestry Landscape Analysis (AFLA) and Markets for Agroforestry Trees Product (MAFTP).
Training objective is to enhance knowledge, skills for extension workers of VNAFE members and others institutions on Agroforestry Landscape and Market analysis. Expectation of this event is to promote application of the concepts of landscape and market for agroforestry development in activities of training and technique transfer of extension system. The training attracted 21participants from three Provincial Extension Centers in the Central Highlands, forestry department of Lam Dong Province, Da Lat University and Dak Nong Science & Technology department. At Dalat University, from 12-13 November, 2008  From 12 - 13 November, 2008 at Dalat University - a new member institution of VNAFE, VNAFE organized the annual board meeting with participation of Rector/Vice Rector/Director of member institutions, representatives of Department of Science & Technology, Forestry Projects Management Board under MARD, and relative institutions in Dalat City.
Followings are the main results of the meeting:
1) Orientation of collaboration and sustainable development for VNAFE/SEANAFE.
2) An agreement on support to VNAFE/SEANAFE signed by Heads of VNAFE member institutions
3) Evaluating 2008 plan and planning for VNAFE 2009.

| The training workshop on Agroforestry Landscape Analysis
Phu Tho, 18 – 23 August, 2008  During the week from 18 - 23/8/2008, supported by SEANAFE, Northern Mountainous Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute (NOMAFSI) - A member of VNAFE organized the national training workshop on Agroforestry Landscape Analysis (AFLA). Training objectives: To enhance knowledge, skills for lecturers and researchers of VNAFE members on AFLA; to strengthen education and research competences in Agroforestry field through curriculum development of AFLA.
The training attracted 19 participants from 9 institution members including: Agriculture and Forestry Universities, Institutes, Extension Centers and Vocational Forestry schools in Viet Nam.
| Workshop on Credit University Training System based Agroforestry Subject Curriculum Development
Quy Nhon City, from 11 - 12 August, 2008 On 11 - 12 August, 2008 supported by SEANAFE/VNAFE, Forestry Faculty of Hue University - member of VNAFE - organized a workshop on Credit University training system based Agroforestry subject curriculum development. Participants of the workshop were lecturers, researchers, extensionists in the Central and Highlands of Vietnam.
A new curriculum developed is added some new contents such as concept of agroforestry landscape, socio-economic, environmental aspects related to agroforestry development. Report of the workshop and Agroforestry subject curriculum framework
| Training workshop and research on Enhancing Forestry Policy Education  Supported by ICRAF, in collaboration with the Regional Community Forestry Training Center (RECOFTC), SEANAFE has embarked on a project titled "Enhancing Forestry Policy Education" with two objectives are to: Strengthen capacities of faculty members from at least 20 SEANAFE member institutions in teaching forest policy analysis and effective communication; and produce teaching materials in national languages to support the first objective. The project comprises three major activities to be implemented between June and October 2008:
1. Introductory workshop on forest policy analysis: 1 week (23 - 28 June 2008)
2. Developing relevant policy research reports: 3 months (July - September 2008)
3. Communicating findings and finalization of teaching materials: 10 day writeshop (October 2008)
The research team of VNAFE include 4 participants:

- MSc. Do Van Nhan: Sub-Forest Inventory & Planning Institute, Quy Nhơn city, Binh Đinh province;

- Eng. Nguyen Thi Thuy Phuong - Hue Agriculture and Forestry University, Thua Thien - Hue province.
participated the introductory training workshop on forest policy analysis in the end of June, 2008 in Bangkok, Thailand. VNAFE team has made a research choice with topic: "Participation of key stakeholders in integrated management in protected forest areas in Viet Nam", in order to answer the question: "How to involve participation of key stakeholders, especially communities in protected forest areas management?"

| NAFEC and General Meeting of VNAFE
PhuTho, February 15 - 16, 2008 
On 15 - 16 February, 2008 in NOMAFSI, Phu Tho province, VNAFE board organized NAFEC and General Meeting. Participants are representatives from VNAFE's member institutions, Forest Science Institute Vietnam (FSIV), Forestry Technique Science Association Vietnam, ICRAF Vietnam.
Content of the meeting:
1) Review VNAFE activities in 2007
2) Decide expansion of membership of VNAFE and membership fee
3) Elect the VNAFE Board and the Chair for period 2008 - 2010. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bao Huy is re-elected to the Chair.
4) Planning VNAFE activities for 2008

| Workshop/Training in Agroforestry Products Market
Buonmathuot City, 28 - 31 August 2007  With support of SEANAFE, members of VNAFE including a group of lecturers of Tay Nguyen University and Agriculture & Forestry HCMC in 2006 participated in some international trainings and carried out a research on Agroforestry Products Market in Vietnam. During this process they also shared their experiences with other national networks of SEANAFE such as Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Lao. Based on this results, the Vietnamese group organized the workshop/training in Market for Agroforestry Products with participation of lecturers/researchers and other. Expectation of this event is to promote process of applying topic of agroforestry products market in training, research.

SEANAFE 13th Board Meeting
Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam, 6 - 8 February 2007
In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from 6 - 8 February 2007; SouthEast Asian Network for Agroforestry Education (SEANAFE) organized the 13th Board Meeting, hosted by Tay Nguyen University and Nong Lam University Hochiminh. Participants are the Chairs of five country networks of Indonesia, Lao, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam; and Technical Adviser of SEANAFE, and representative of SIDA and ICRAF. At the meeting the SENAFE's Board evaluated activities of 2006 and discussed to establish plan for 2007 and beyond. National Agroforestry Education Committee (NAFEC) Meeting
October 9 - 10th, 2006 at Tay Nguyen University 
On 9 - 10 October, 2006 at Tay Nguyen University, NAFEC of VNAFE organized the second meeting in 2006. Objectives of the meeting are to review 2006 plan and to work out workplan for 2007. Participants are members of NAFEC: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bao Huy, Dr. Le Quoc Doanh, Msc. Pham Quang Vinh, Dr. Ho Dac Thai Hoang, Msc. Dang Hai Phuong, Msc. Dam Van Vinh and Technical Adviser of SEANAFE: Dr. Jess Corpuz Fernander. Main issues reviewed and evaluated are: i) Application of New Agroforestry training curriculum; ii) Evaluation and discussion how to develop case studies in market of agroforestry products for training; iii) Information exchange such as provide articles for SEANAFE's Newsletter, upgraded Web site of VNAFE; iv) Evaluation and acceptance of Msc. Thesis to award the grant. The meeting also discussed on: i) involving more memberships such as extension centers, Agirculture Universities; ii) planning for 2007: Surveying and documenting Agroforestry practices, coordinating information exchange on the wed site, mobilizing resources for the network; iii) establishing a team to participate in the SEANAFE project of Landscape Agroforestry.

A strategy frame to orient development of VNAFE including solution and source mobilization. Main components of the strategy frame:
i) Define context and orientation of VNAFE
ii) Identify goal and specific objectives of VNAFE.
Elect Chair and Steering Committee period 2006 - 2008
Chair of VNAFE period 2006 – 2008: Assoc.Prof. Dr. Bao Huy, Tay Nguyen University was elected to be Chair of VNAFE period 2006 – 2008. Steering Committee of VNAFE period 2006 – 2008: Steering Committee was elected including representatives of different regions in Vietnam such as the North, Highlands, South, Center. Steering Committee includes 6 members.

Workshop on Agroforestry curriculum development at Bsc. level
At Agriculture & Forestry University Hue on 28-29 March, 2006
Participatory Curriculum Development (PCD) was applied to design Agroforestry curriculum at Bsc. level in Vietnam. The workshop involved participation of many stakeholders with 26 participants from Agriculture & Forestry Universities, Extension Centers, Provincial Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development.
